Go-kon Open Log

Welcome to the wonderful fall weekend go-kon dating event! Though typically karaoke is a rather intimate affair, Oshitari rented out a larger room to accommodate the crowd. There’s an open bar area with snacks and soft drinks; a few high tops surround it, dotting the way toward some of the comfier couches that frame the small stage. Around the stage the room is dimly lit, illuminated mostly by a few low lamps and flittering disco lights. The snacks, however, are perfectly illuminated.

Whether or not you put yourself on Oshitari's list, you can show up. Either you're someones plus one or you PM'd Oshitari last minute.

(ooc: (1) While there will be NPC characters there, keep in mind that they're all friends of friends. As such, they're all perfectly nice people who would not take advantage of anyone. Use them as you see fit.
(2) While I know there are large drinks being offered for free, please do not get your character dangerously drunk. Intoxicated and a little sloppy is fine, but please no hospitalization/extreme illness. Keep it fun!)

Yukimura wasn't really in the mood for a drink. Plus, it wasn't exactly advised to drink on his current medication. Either way, he was perfectly content to drink tea the entire night and watch everyone else get ridiculous.

As he waited for his drink, Yukimura picked up a card. "Would you rather fly or have invisibility?" He hummed for a moment. "Fly, for sure."

Yuuji wasn't too far away when he heard Yukimura and snorted. " Flying is funner and get's you places quicker, invisibility sounds like only perverts would take advantage of that ability." He said taking a seat by Yukimura and sipping on his beer.

"I didn't know that you'd be coming to be honest Gokons don't sound like your type of thing." Yuuji had come mainly because it sounded like it'd be fun and Kenya was going.

Yukimura laughed. "True, though, invisibility would be good for when you needed to do an art project that required getting candid shots," he said, mouthing 'thank you' to the bartender when he set the tea on the counter.

He took a drink then shrugged. "I've been holed up in either the studio or on the courts, so I thought I should be social before I'm too wrapped up in the tournament to do anything else."

" Ah, you're right that would be good but flying is way cooler than just being invisible even if it's helpful sometimes." Yuuji took notice to his tea and didn't bother asking. Some people just didn't care for booze.

In some ways he felt bad considering that Yukimura cared more about the tournament then he ever did. While he really liked playing tennis but he knew that he wasn't as dedicated as the other. " Oh right, you didn't to the Halloween party. Too bad you didn't go, you would have had a good time but yeah, you should be more social." Yuuji didn't consider himself a social butterfly but he did like having a good time. "It's our best years, might as well enjoy them."

"Playing tennis would certainly be more fun if I could fly," Yukimura said with a slight laugh. Invisibility was only marginally useful in his opinion.

It sounded like he had missed quite a party, but that was okay. "There will be parties in the future that I can go to." He smiled at Yuuji then held up his tea. "I'll enjoy it more if I remember what happened."

Yuuji snorted, "Sounds like epic tennis. Kinda sounds like quidditch." He hoped that Yukimura got that reference. It was almost a sin for him if he didn't.

" That's true.At least you're here now." lifting his beer he clinked it slowly against the others tea cup. "Cheers to remembering and not making a fool out of yourself."

"As long as I get to be Seeker." Yukimura took a drink of tea. He looked out over the go-kon crowd very thankful that he was avoiding some of those drinks, even if they looked good.

"Even sober, I could possibly make a fool of myself," Yukimura said. "Either way, I'll have a good time, right?"

Kuroko wasn't usually awkward in social situations, but this was the first time he'd attended a go-kon. His lack of presence was also making it difficult to interact with people because they didn't notice him. He overheard the blue haired man and decided if he wanted to meet people, he would have to make an effort.

"Most of my friends seem to think I'm invisible, so I think it would be nice to fly too. Nice to meet you, I'm Kuroko Tetsuya."

Yukimura turned to see light blue hair and matching eyes. "Your friends aren't very observant then, Kuroko," he said. "Yukimura Seiichi. Nice to meet you too."

Kuroko sat down on an empty chair next to Yukimura. His gaze was unnervingly focused. "Many of my friends are very observant, but disappearing is my specialty. While it's an advantage on the court, it makes it hard to get people's attention," Kuroko explained.

Yukimura couldn't help but think that they really weren't all that observant if Kuroko could "disappear" on them. Specialty or not. "Well, you haven't had trouble tonight," Yukimura said. "Court? Which one?" He'd heard of disappearing serves (which didn't really if you paid close enough attention), but disappearing people was a new one.

"I'm a basketball player, if you can believe it." Kuroko knew he didn't really look like an athlete, considering his short height and compact physique. "Even though I'm smaller than most players, I've used it to my advantage. People usually underestimate me." He smiled at Yukimura. "Do you play a sport?"

[personal profile] suisaigaka 2015-11-09 03:36 pm (UTC)(link)

"Size shouldn't be a determining factor in what sport you play. If you're good at it, then it doesn't matter," Yukimura said. Though, he would make some exceptions. Gymnastics, for one, was easier if you were smaller and lighter. Yukimura mirrored Kuroko's smile. "Tennis, for me. What school do you go to?"

"I'm a literature student at Johoga," Kuroko explained. He agreed with Yukimura, but he didn't really like the implication that you had to be a good player to play a sport. Kuroko wasn't talented, but his love for basketball made him practice until he could support his teammates.

He hadn't thought Yukimura was an athlete. His graceful physique was deceiving. "What about you?"

Yukimura thumbed the rim of his tea mug. He didn't quite know what someone would do with a literature degree. It was probably a lot of writing and reading. Too boring to keep attention for very long. "Fine art at Togei," he replied eventually.

"That sounds interesting. Do you have a medium you prefer?" Kuroko was creative, but he had never been especially good at painting or drawing. He used his words to illustrate scenes and emotions that he couldn't express otherwise. Yukimura must be talented to pursue art and tennis at university.

"Watercolors," Yukimura said with a bright smile. "I've been doing a lot with acrylics lately though." He really needed to finish some paintings rather than start new ones. Inspiration was temperamental like that. "What style do you like best? Literature-wise."

Kuroko picked up a card of his own, curious what the question would be. "Would you rather be a unicorn or a land shark?" He paused to consider for a moment. Being a unicorn didn't seem like a bad choice. However, he really didn't understand the question. "What is a land shark?"

"Something like that exists?" Kuroko asked in surprise. People really had vivid imaginations. "I guess I would chose to be a land shark, because than I could walk on the land and swim in the water."

As he peered at Oshitari, Kuroko concluded that the handsome young man would make a "fabulous unicorn." Although he wasn't sure if their symbolism really fit Oshitari's personality. "Not to be rude. But aren't unicorns symbols of purity?"
